Single interest view#30

I just thought of a new interest to add to my list (property-based testing) and wished that I could see all articles matching that interest that I missed.

So it would be neat if for each interest there was a “interest detail” page where I could see all the articles of the last day/week/etc from my feeds matching that one interest. Sort of a way to do a deeper dive on a single topic.

It would be really cool if that page also had the “all feeds” checkbox. I could imagine sort of a workflow where I become interested in a new topic, so I go to the interest detail page with all feeds enabled and a long time span and then look for interesting articles. Any good articles I find I could then add the source feeds to my feeds to better support my new interest.

Good suggestion! The Search page actually does pretty much exactly that – but I like the idea of a single-interest page (even if that’s basically just a rebranded Search).

This also makes me think that instead of there being a global user setting for showing/hiding which feeds an item came from, it would be more useful to have a toggle under each item that would show the feeds for that item.

This has been added! You can now look at all posts related to a single interest. You can get to this view by clicking on an interest in any of the following places: a tag next to a post’s title, your Interests page, or when browsing through other users.
